Rates for Performances, Recording Studio Time, and Music Lessons

Performance Rates:
I normally play 2-1 hour sets or 3-45 minute sets, traveling up to 40 miles from Appleton. My Solo engagement rate is $150 and can include use of backing tracks (for a combo sound) and vocals as requested. Rates for Duo, Trio, and Quartets are $300, $450, and $600 for club and private engagements. Please inquire about rates for corporate and non-profit engagements. Rates are adjusted for special dates, repeat customers, longer playing times, additional equipment needs (lighting, etc) and/or engagements outside the Appleton area. A written contract is required. I reserve the right to establish the line-up. Note – locking in specific musicians and/or specific instruments with early bookings will many times require higher fees. Additional fees are charged for recordings and/or CD/Video reproductions of the engagement.

JCP Recording – Studio Hours and Rates:
Recording studio hours are Monday-Friday 5-9 pm, and Saturday-Sunday 9 am – 9pm.
Hourly Rates – Studio time is $40 per hour. Mastering is $40 per song. For larger projects, we offer the following special rates:
4 Hour time reservation – $140, provides ½ Hour Free, a $20 Savings
6 Hour time reservation – $200, provides 1 Hour Free, a $60 Savings
12 Hour time reservation – $380, provides 2.5 Hours Free, a $100 Savings
Project Rates – We will provide a proposal based on your specific needs. Based on a short interview, we will prepare a proposal to your needs. Typical pricing can be by the song or by the album, including manufacturing of CDs, Internet marketing, or just consulting to help you get your project launched. Let us work with you to turn your vision into a reality.
On Location Rates – We will provide Sound Reinforcement and on location recording, prices start at $400 per event based on your specific equipment needs. For Sound Reinforcement equipment rentals only, prices start at $300.
Music Lessons – Rates:
All lessons are 45 minutes, and begin on the hour. Lessons are in my studio in downtown Appleton at 614 N. Drew St, just north of City Park (parking off Drew St. on Atlantic St. across from the Fire Station).
Currently, private instruction is available as follows:
Adult Guitar, from beginner through advanced. I will accept any serious student regardless of age. Payment is in advance, $20 per lesson, monthly payments are preferred.
Modern Recording Techniques, fundamentals through advanced. This course will be available on request and will be taught by degreed professionals in music, recording, and electrical technology and engineering. If you are interested, please inquire.
Coming soon: Group Therapy for Musicians! Depending on interest, I may be offering periodic lessons via Internet video-conferencing. 1) Provides lessons direct to your home via the Internet, 2) provides an open forum for questions. In this forum, we could also feature guest local artists and musicians. Just a thought. Let me know your interest.
